I’m also a list-writer, although not always great at sticking to them at the best of times. This year has been completely thrown by what’s happening in Israel, alongside some difficult personal life stuff too. I’ve found myself starting things and having them go in completely different directions, other things neglected or pushed endlessly down the list…
I like the idea of being a mouthpiece for G-d. Lately, I have been focused on davening as a way of being with G-d and the Jewish people. Just of feeling connection for its own sake. (This was based on Rav Soloveitchik’s idea of the Covenantal Community that is formed by prayer in The Lonely Man of Faith.) I actually started focusing on this about eighteen months or two years ago, but it’s been helpful to me this last year.
I feel like I am the opposite I never really write list because I am capable of remembering. It’s hard for me to remember new names.
I hear you, thanks for sharing that!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it! This time certainly has been challenging and it's good to find approaches that help.
