This is just a short update. Remember how I talked about doing that thing that keeps whispering in your ear?
Well.
My article about antisemitism was published in Newsweek yesterday.
And although I’m a little scared to be so vulnerable in public, I’m also a little bit proud and I thought you might like to see it.
If this article speaks to you, please share it, hopefully along with a clear condemnation of antisemitism in all its forms.
Your support means the world to me.
In this holy, precious and painful time, may we all find strength and courage to do what we’re called to do. And with G-d’s help, may we have enough presence and connection to hear it.
Shabbat shalom,
Evonne
P.S. Friendly reminder: my novel The Prophetess is coming out in paperback on Tuesday. Please buy copies for the people who would be uplifted by reading it right now. In the last few days the book’s bestsellers’ rank went up by more than 6.3 MILLION spaces. THANK YOU! Please help keep it going.
P.P.S. Second friendly reminder: For each book pre-ordered by November 14, my publisher and I have each agreed to make a donation to Leket Israel, an Israeli organization that rescues surplus food and distributes it to those in need.
P.P.P.S. Cyberspace being what it is, this email may have been flagged as spam in your inbox. I promise, it's really me, having spent almost the whole day listening to an Ishay Ribo playlist on Spotify in my attempt to stay calm and focused. (No bot would know that but you do, right?) If you want to see more messages from me, please let your email service know I'm real and writing to you from my author account, evonnewrites@gmail.com.
Really beautifully stated, Evonne. I think it will resonate to some extent or another with many of us and, more importantly, hopefully help some of our non-Jewish fellow Americans understand a bit of how so many Jewish-Americans are feeling right now.
